SUNY New Paltz Women's Soccer Earns 2-0 Win Over Brockport

Brockport, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz used two early first-half goals to help earn a 2-0 win on the road over The College at Brockport Saturday.

The victory officially secured the Hawks a postseason berth into the SUNYAC tournament for back-to-back seasons since 2011-12.

Ally Donovan got the offense started for the Hawks as she put away the game's first goal in the 18th minute off an assist by Siena Diaz-Colon. Two minutes later, SUNY New Paltz doubled its advantage as Brooke Kelleher registered her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Maggie Cameron.

After controlling the first half of play with the Hawks out-shooting the Golden Eagles, 8-2 and garnering more corners, 4-3, Brockport swung momentum in the second half. The hosts fired 17 shots in the final 45 minutes to ultimately out-shoot SUNY New Paltz, 19-12 in the game. Maddie Franklin was active throughout the match for the Hawks and finished with a career-high 11 saves.

The victory pushed the Hawks record to 9-3-1 overall and 6-2 in SUNYAC play. Their next outing is set for Wednesday on the road at Manhattanville for a 7 p.m. match.
