Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners Monday with sophomore
Kaitlyn Shaw earning his first ever SUNYAC/PrestoSports Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week honor.
Shaw has been the catalyst through the first three games of the season for the Hawks (2-1 overall). In a perfect 2-0 week, Shaw led the way with 10 total goals, an assist, five ground balls and a caused turnover. She set a career-high in points against Farmingdale March 2 with five goals and an assist to lead the team to a 13-9 victory. Shaw backed up that performance with another five-goal outing in a 14-8 win over Hartwick March 5, as she also totaled a team-high four ground balls and one caused turnover in the victory.
Shaw becomes the first women's lacrosse SUNYAC Weekly recipient since 2021 alum
Amy Hofer earned the same accolade last season.
SUNY New Paltz is back in action Saturday, as it hits the road to take on Stockton University at 1 p.m.
