Binghamton, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz earned a 9-0 win over SUNY Geneseo Thursday at Binghamton Tennis Club.

Rob Bruley. "It was great to see us start our SUNYAC pool play with a convincing, 9-0 sweep of Geneseo."
SUNY New Paltz (7-4-1 overall, 4-0 SUNYAC) rolled through doubles with
Trinity Chow and
Tatiana Barnett collecting a dominating, 8-0 win at first doubles,
Onalee Batcheller and
Alexandra Dratch earning an 8-3 victory at second doubles, and Isabel van deer Veen and
Loretta Donovan securing an 8-1 win in third doubles.
Chow, back in the singles lineup, was sharp in a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles.
Anya Barteck won match at second singles, 6-1, 6-3 with Batcheller winning by the same score at third singles. Van der Veen, Barnett and Donovan each earned 6-1, 6-0 victories at four, five and six singles, respectively.
"All three doubles teams were extremely strong in their matches, and I was very happy the way Trinity and Tatiana came together at No. 1 doubles," Bruley said. "Singles started and finished strong, and I was especially pleased the way Anya, Isabel and Tatiana went about their matches, winning very convincingly. This win should set us up well for tomorrow's 9 a.m. match against Fredonia."
The Hawks continue pool play at the Binghamton Tennis Club Friday against the Blue Devils, before concluding their weekend trip against The College at Brockport Saturday at noon.
