NEW YORK, NY- The State University of New York at New Paltz swim teams were action today at Baruch College. The men swam in a head-to-head match against CUNY Baruch. The women faced the host Bearcats as well as the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College. The SUNY New Paltz men defeated Baruch with 144 points. The SUNY New Paltz women's team came in first place, defeating Sarah Lawrence 62-42 and Baruch 73-31.
Delilah Griger finished first in the 50-meter backstroke in a time of 33.75. Sierra DePry finished first in the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 29.20. Kelly Donlevy finished first in the 100-meter freestyle in a time of 1:06.68. Alexandra Kassian finished first in the 100-meter intermediate in a time of 1:12.82. The women took first in the 200-meter freestyle relay (Julia Iaboni, Alexandra Kassian, Kelly Donlevy, and Sierra Depry) with a time of 2:02.71. The women also took first in the 200-meter medley relay (Delilah Griger, Alexandra Kassian, Kelly Donlevy, and Sierra Depry) with a time of 2:10.37.
Antonio Vavalle took first place in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:04.94. Paul Castner took first in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 30.65. Venn Engstrom finished first in the 50-breastroke with a time of 32.58. Zachary Brown finished first in the 100-meter breastroke with a time of 1:08.97. Owen Rowlands took first in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 29.05. The men took first in the 200-meter freestyle relay (Venn Engstrom, Korey Barber, Steven Macaluso, and Paul Castner) with a time of 1:42.57. The men also took first in the 200-meter medley relay (Korey Barber, Venn Engstrom, Steven Macaluso, and Paul Castner) with a time of 1:54.99.
