SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey Freshmen Meghan Gunning and Angelina Regels Named NFHCA DIII Scholars of Distinction

Geneva, NY — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its yearly Division III Scholars of Distinction Thursday with two Hawks, Meghan Gunning and Angelina Regels featured among more than 470 student-athletes who made the list this year. 

The NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year.

Both Gunning and Regels had standout contributions this past fall, sharing a combined 439 minutes, helping SUNY New Paltz reach the semifinals of the SUNYAC playoffs this past season.
