Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) released its weekly honors Monday with the Hawks sweeping both offensive and defensive honors.
Junior midfielder
Kaitlyn Shaw was named SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career, while senior midfielder
Shannon Brosnan earned her first weekly recognition, named Defensive Player of the Week.
Shaw put up a gaudy stat line in leading her team through a three-game winning streak, which was capped by an 11-6 road win over Hood College Saturday. She set a career-high in goals to start the week, scoring seven in a 15-9 win over St. Joseph's-Long Island March 6, while also leading her team in draw controls (6) and adding a caused turnover. She followed up by leading her team in points in a 24-4 rout of Bard March 8, posting five goals and two assists with four ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. In the win over the Blazers, Shaw registered a team-high four points with three points and an assist, while totaling three ground balls and three draw controls.
Brosnan, meanwhile, led SUNY New Paltz in caused turnovers with four, including three over St. Joseph's-LI and aided the Hawks defensively in holding each opponent under 10 goals in each game, while also collecting 10 ground balls and eight draw controls in the stretch.

SUNY New Paltz was in action Monday against Stockton University, falling 18-4 putting an end to its three-game winning streak. The Hawks resume play March 25 with they begin SUNYAC play on the road at Oswego State.
