Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday with the Hawks sweeping first week's softball honors.
Seniors
Jillian Harrison and
Juliet Bernstein were both named to their first SUNYAC weekly honor of their careers with Harrison named Pitcher of the Week and Bernstein Player of the Week following a doubleheader sweep of Rutgers-Camden Feb. 23 in their season opener.
Bernstein opened the day with a grand slam in her first at-bat against the Raptors. She then added two more hits, two runs with a double in game two and finished her afternoon hitting .600 on the day. Defensively, she had a perfect fielding percentage on three catches and three put-outs.
Harrison pitched a gem against Rutgers-Camden in her season debut, throwing four innings, giving up just one hit, no walks and three strikeouts for a perfect 0.00 ERA in a 16-0 Hawks win. She also hit for herself, helping her own cause by going 3-for-3 with three RBI and a walk.
