Syracuse, NY — The State Univeristy of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners Monday with Hawks sophomore left fielder
Jackie Rometo named to her first weekly honor.
Rometo, from Montgomery, NY, continued a stellar second season with another standout performance this past weekend to propel SUNY New Paltz to its fourth-straight SUNYAC sweep after defeating hosting Oneonta Saturday, 6-5 and 8-1, respectively.
In the two games played, Rometo batted .692 (9-for-13) with a 1.000 slugging percentage, totaling nine runs, nine hits, seven RBI, four doubles, a walk, five stolen baes and a hit by pitch with no strikeouts. Rometo also registered her 100 th career hit on a bases clearing two-RBI double in game two, which gave her team a 5-1 lead in the second that pushed SUNY New Paltz to the comfortable victory.

The Hawks are back in action Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader against visiting Baruch before taking on Potsdam and Plattsburgh in two game series Friday and Saturday, respectively.
