New Paltz, N.Y. — The State University of New York at New Paltz softball team announced its incoming class for the upcoming 2024 season Thursday.
 
The Hawks came off the best season in program history. With a 31-13 overall record in 2023, the team secured the top seed and hosted the SUNYAC tournament for the first time ever. They graduated two players and is looking to build on their success from this past spring and tout another deep class who will not only prove pivotal in the upcoming season, but in the future as well as the team is projected to lose nearly seven seniors from the 2024 class.

Anderson led the Lightning Bolts to three consecutive Suffolk County Class A tournaments. In 2022, she was named to the All-Suffolk County Class A team and was a Suffolk County, Class A All-Tournament selection. In that same season, Anderson recorded 12 RBI, scored 23 runs including five doubles and two home runs. Her senior season saw her earn 
Newsday Top 100 Long Island Softball Players and All-League First Team honors. 
 
Anderson was also a member of the National Honor Society.

In 2022, Bridgwood batted .438 and recorded 16 RBI. In her senior season, she was named to the 2023 
Newsday Top 100 Long Island Softball Players list.  
 
The Levittown, NY native served as team captain for Division Avenue last spring and was named All-Country following her senior season. Also, a two-sport athlete, competing for two varsity seasons on the girl's volleyball squad, Bridgwood excelled in the classroom as she earned a place on the National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society. She plans to major in Adolescence Education- Math at SUNY New Paltz.

D'Arcangelis joins the Hawks after two seasons at Onondaga Community College. She started 73 of 73 games, batted .427 and recorded 103 hits, 96 runs, 26 RBI, 56 stolen bases, a .510 slugging percentage, and a .519 OBP.  
 
At Liverpool High School, D'Arcangelis was named to the 2021 All-League First Team, All-Section III First Team, All-Central N.Y. First Team, and the NYSPHSAA Class AA All-State Fourth Team.

Goldberg-Sacharoff batted .510 with 25 hits and 10 RBI in 2022 for Herricks High School and the following season she was named to the 
Newsday Top 100 Long Island Softball Players list. 
 
Goldberg-Sacharoff was dual sport athlete, competing on both the varsity basketball and softball teams for the Highlanders. Along with that, she worked as a Herricks basketball camp counselor, AHLL volunteer, and volunteer tutor, and is the second National Honor Society member in this year's incoming class.  
 
The New Hyde Park, NY native, who played her travel ball for Sudden Impact LI, will add depth to the catcher spot, joining rising sophomores 
Catie Driscoll and incumbent starter 
Emmie Mae Cabrera.

In her first year on varsity for Chenango Valley, Hope was named to the STAC First Team and followed that performance up by leading her team to the Section IV Class B semifinals in 2021. 
 
In 2022, she captained the Warriors to a 18-3 record and became Section IV Class B champions with her team making a trip all the way to the NYSPHSAA Class B State Championship finals where they finished ranked fourth in the final NYSPHSAA Class B softball poll in 2022. 
 
In her junior season, Hope was named to the STAC First Team, Section IV Class B All State First Team, and the NYSPHSAA Class B All State First Team. She rounded out her career at Chenango Valley by being named as a 
Press Connects 60 Players to Watch and STAC All Conference First Team honors. Hope paced the team in batting average (.534), hits (31), runs (24), OBP (.574) and FP (1.000) all while leading the Warriors to the STAC and Section IV Class B finals.  
 
Hope comes from a long line of collegiate stars, as her brother, Brady, starred for the North Greenville University men's lacrosse team from 2019-23, while her father, Jay, played college football at Ithaca College and mother, Jodi, starred for the Wilkes University Volleyball.
 
The Binghamton, NY native, who played travel softball for the TC Tremors, plans to study Mechanical Engineering at SUNY New Paltz.

Krinsky helped lead the Rams to back-to-back postseason Section 1 playoffs in 2022 and 2023. She played travel softball for the HV Hurricanes.
 
The New City, NY native is primed to be utilized in different spots along the infield and outfield for the Hawks next season as she adds depth to a talented roster.

In 2022, Sharrock received All-Suffolk County honors and followed it up the next year being named to the All-Division Team. Athletic, she comes to SUNY New Paltz as a former three-sport athlete at Newfield High School, playing four seasons of varsity field hockey, two varsity seasons of track and starred for the Wolverines softball team for four seasons.
 
The Selden, NY native, who played travel for Long Island Heat, will be featured along the infield for the Hawks. She enters SUNY New Paltz majoring in Political Science, Business.

Steinmann, hailing from Lindenhurst, NY will fit into the Hawks lineup after a strong senior season for the Lindenhurst Bulldogs where she was named a Newsday Top-100 Long Island softball player.
 
She will play along the infield for SUNY New Paltz, again providing depth for a stacked roster. In 2022, she recorded a batting average for .438 for the Bulldogs with 16 RBI.

Zangrilli received a 
LoHud Westchester/Putnam Honorable Mention in 2020, starring for the Carmel Rams. In the same season, she was named a team co-captain and was named 
LoHud Westchester/Putnam Player of the Week on two different occasions. In 2022, Zangrilli was named a Section I Class AA All-Star and led the Rams to the Section I, Class AA semifinals. 
 
She joins SUNY New Paltz after one season at the College of Staten Island where she recorded five innings of play. She will be utilized to bolster the Hawks pitching rotation, which features All-SUNYAC picks 
Lindsay Roman and 
Sydney Waldon.
