Saratoga Springs, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz swimming program fell to Skidmore on Saturday. The men lost 159-46 while the women finished with a score of 145-60.


The Men started the meet with a second place 400-yard medley relay. The team of Jack Wirth, Alex Gorzula, Steven Macaluso and Jack Samko touched the wall with a time of 3:44.69.
 
Jayme Fink touched third in the women's 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:19.91 followed by Sarina Buono in fourth with a time of 12:26.11.
 
Antonio Vavalle dominated in the men's 1000 out touching his opponent by .24 of a second. Vavalle touched first with a time of 10:29.72.
 
Abigail Dusseault touched third in the women's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.46.
 
Brianna Law finished third in the women's 50 freestyle with a time of 27.48. On the men's side of the race, Samko touched second with a time of 22.21.
 
Candela Sandoval touched third in the women's 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.03. Erin Donovan touched fourth with a time of 2:35.93. Gorzula touched third as well, with a time of 2:02.88, followed by Wirth in fourth with a time of 2:09.36.
 
Chloe Jeffares touched fourth in the women's 100 fly with a time of 1:08.13, followed by teammate Abigail Keiser in fifth with a time of 1:09.80. Macaluso touched second with a time of 54.40.
 
Naomi Levey touched fourth in the women's 100 free with a time of 1:01.55. Venn Engstorm also finished fourth with a time of 51.13.
 
Sage Vadney touched fourth in the women's 100 back with a time of 1:09.98. Molly Snyder touched in fifth with s time of 1:13.38. Wirth touched second in the men's heat with a time of 56.27. Paul Castner touched fourth for the Hawks with a time of 59.58.
 
Dusseault battled in the 500-yard freestyle out touching her opponent by .71 in the final sprint home. She held 36 and under for the length of the race touching with a time of 5:51.06. Vavalle finished third with a time of 5:11.95 keeping his splits all under 32.30.
 
Law dominated in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing in first with a time of 1:14.79, 2 seconds before the rest of the group. Gorzula finished second in the men's 100 breast with ma time of 1:03.30. Engstorm took fourth with a time of 1:05.06 and Xavier Calderon touched fifth with a time of 1:05.48.
 
The team of Vadney, Levey, Sandoval and Donovan touched fourth in the women's 400-yard free style relay, ending the race with a time of 4:12.03.  
 
The team of Engstrom, Samko, Vavalle and Macaluso touched second in the men's race with a time of 3:24.03.
 
The Hawks are back in action Nov 22 as they head to the Ewing Township in New Jersey to TCNJ for their mid-season championship style meet.
