Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly athlete of the week winners Tuesday with Hawks sophomore goalkeeper
Jess Centeri named as the Defensive Player of the Week.
The Selden, NY native received her first ever SUNYAC weekly recognition after she continued her break-out second season. She joined teammates
Brooke Kelleher (Sept. 15) and
Mia Baldinger (Sept. 22) who were named earlier this year on the offensive end and becomes the first defensive selection for the program since fellow teammate
Hannah Wellinger last October.
After missing the last four games due to injury, Centeri stepped back into the net for the Hawks on the road against Oswego Saturday. She was critical in a 0-0 draw, totaling her second double-digit save performance of the year after registering 10 stops in what was her fifth shutout of the season.
