Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly conference athlete of the week recipients with Hawks senior
Oliver Melara-Perez named as the Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Melara-Perez, who earned his third SUNYAC weekly honor this season, his last coming on Oct. 6, led SUNY New Paltz at the Rowan Border Battle this past weekend. Melara-Perez was the first to cross for the Hawks, finishing 31st overall and set a new personal best time of 25 minutes, 26.5 in the 8K race. His performance placed him second on the program's all-time 8K performance list.

Melara-Perez and the Hawks are back in action Nov. 1, starting postseason competition in Plattsburgh, NY at the SUNYAC Championships.
