New Paltz, NY — Each week, student intern Jackie Arriaga takes a look back at some of the most stand-out statistical numbers the Hawks had throughout the spring.
Take a look at some standouts below:
60%: The percentage Sierra Carter shot from three for the women's basketball team. Carter made 3 out of 5 attempts and contributed 13 points against Morrisville Friday night. The Hawks defeated the Mustangs, 62-44.
45: The number of rebounds the women's basketball team grabbed against Morrisville. This includes a game-high nine from Julia Sabatino and six apiece from Abby Korzekwinski and Karly Wittenbauer.
70: The men's basketball team's shooting percentage from the free-throw line against Morrisville. The men sank 14 of 20 foul shots, to help secure their win over Friday night. A.J. Knight bagged all four of his free throw opportunities while Mitchell Cumings also shot 100 percent from the line, both contributing to the Hawks' win.
14: The number of points Sean St. Lucia averaged to the men's basketball team's wins over the weekend. St. Lucia contributed 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal in a 68-64 win over the Morrisville Mustangs and scored a game-high 17 points and 5 rebounds in 54-39 victory against the Cortland Red Dragons.
9: The game-high amount of rebounds Dakoda Smith registered for the men's basketball team win over Cortland on Saturday night. Smith also secured a career-high six steals to help the Hawks defeat the Red Dragons, 54-39.
