Albany, NY — The State University of New York (SUNY) named seven student-athletes this past fall for their academic and athletic achievement hailing from Division III SUNY institutions across the state with Hawks senior forward Rachel Eisert named to her second-straight SUNY Division III Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year honor.
 
The award was officially announced Jan. 24 by the SUNYAC Office, as four others within the conference were honored alongside Eisert.
 
The Fall SUNY Scholar Athlete of the Year Award recognizes student-athletes from SUNY colleges and universities sponsoring intercollegiate athletics at the four- and two-year levels who were nominated and voted upon by representatives of their respective intuition based on cumulative grade point average, current and career statistics and athletic and academic honors.
 
Eisert concluded her career with the best season in program history. She led SUNY New Paltz to a SUNYAC Championship and automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament where she broke her own single-season records for goals (15) and points (34), while earning her second consecutive SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year honor, while being named to her third All-Region pick and became the program's first ever United Soccer Coaches All-American selection, named to the second team. Additionally, Eisert garnered her second straight United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America recognition and was named to a consecutive SUNYAC Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year honor.
