The 2024-25 season looked bright, with the bulk of last year's SUNYAC Championship and
NCAA DIII team returning. Yet, the new season quickly became a challenge when All-American
Brianna Fitzgerald was lost for the season due to injury. It took the new look Hawks a few games to adjust but the grit and determination that have marked previous teams kicked in, with SUNY New Paltz turning in a respectable 16-9 overall record and a very solid 15-3 SUNYAC record, to earn them the second seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. Experience led the way, with graduate students
Julia Sabatino and
Abby Korzekwinski filling the gap. Sophomore
Hannah Vanderzee stepped up her play to become a now and future force to be dealt with.
