SUNY New Paltz Baseball Adds Henry from Team IMPACT to Regular Season Roster

Luke Henry from Team IMPACT will join the Hawks as the newest member, officially signing April 18

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz announced the official signing day of newest Hawk Luke Henry from Team IMPACT.

The 8-year-old Henry, who hails from Walden, NY will sign his letter to join the SUNY New Paltz Baseball program during a press conference prior to the Hawks' single non-conference game against Western Connecticut State April 18.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to have Luke and his family join the program," said SUNY New Paltz coach Thomas Seay. "TEAM Impact is a tremendous organization, and we are proud to be partnering with them to bring fulfillment to Luke and a heightened sense of service to our players."

Henry and his family took a tour of the facility and met coach Seay and the rest of the team on an initial visit Dec. 11. He was brought around the Athletic Wellness Center, went through the equipment room to see his official jersey and even toured the athletic training facilities before he and his family joined the rest of the Hawks for a team photo in the Athletic Wellness Center following the special introduction.

"It's been a tremendous experience already for the men in our program," Seay said. "Luke was able to spend some quality time at our early indoor practices at the end of January and first couple weeks of February, now that the weather is getting better, and we are playing more home games we're excited to have Luke and his family at the ballpark. I'm really excited to be partnering with TEAM Impact again, I was fortunate to work with them when I was an assistant at Marist, they are a tremendous organization, and I highly recommend other programs partnering with them."

Seay and the rest of the Hawks are looking forward in having Henry officially sign on April 18. Following the press conference, Henry will join the team prior to their non-conference single game against Western Connecticut State on Loren Campbell Field with the two teams set to start at 3 p.m.

"I'm most excited to see the smiles on everyone's faces," Seay said. "Signing Day is a really special day for everyone, I don't think our players know what kind of impact they are having on a young man's life until they see it on Signing Day. It's really special and will put things in prospective. I know Luke will be excited and we are really blessed to be able to share this moment with him and his family."
