Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly winners Monday morning with Hawks senior goalkeeper
Gail Comiskey earning her first career Defensive Player of the Week nod.
Comiskey played huge in net this past week for the Hawks. The Patchogue, NY native totaled eight saves including two stops in overtime to allow SUNY New Paltz to come away with the eventual, 1-0 double overtime victory over Skidmore Wednesday. She then posted six more saves in a 4-1 road win over Ramapo Saturday to help boost her team to 3-2 on the year.
Overall, Comiskey finished with 14 saves on 25 shots faced in more than 132 minutes of action, averaging a minuscule 1.69 goals against with a .929 save percentage and one shutout.
SUNY New Paltz returns home Wednesday to host No. 25 Stevens on North Turf Field at 3:30 p.m.
