Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners Monday with Hawks senior pitcher
Alex Frenza named to her second straight Pitcher of the Week recognition.
Frenza is the fourth Hawk recognized this season for the weekly honor and only pitcher of the week recipient thus far. She also became the first two-time SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week recipient for SUNY New Paltz since
Sydney Waldon in 2024.
Frenza made history this past weekend becoming the third Hawk in program history to throw a perfect game, joining alums Waldon (2025) and Lindsay Roman (2023). She did so in a five-inning, 10-0 rout of Purchase Friday, giving up no hits, no walks with a season-high 10 strikeouts.
SUNY New Paltz is back in action this week with its first SUNYAC series scheduled for Friday and Saturday on Mary Gray Deanne Field against Fredonia and Buffalo State, respectively.
