Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday with Hawks senior pitcher
Xavier Zykoff named to his first SUNYAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week accolade.
The Poughkeepsie, NY native earned a spot in the history books becoming the first player in program history to throw a no-hitter.
He did so in a seven-inning, 13-1 win over Oneonta where he yielded just three walks, no earned runs and had four strikeouts. He then appeared in a 15-6 win over Plattsburgh and tossed two innings, allowing three hits with three strikeouts. In nine innings pitched in his two outings, he gave up three hits, two earned runs and four walks with seven strikeouts and boasted a k.9 of 7.00, an ERA of 2.00 and WHIP of .78.
