Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday with Hawks senior pitcher Alex Frenza earning her fourth SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week honor. 

Frenza threw her fourth no-hitter (which includes a Perfect Game pitched earlier in the year) in a 5-0 shutout victory over Union Tuesday, pitching a complete game seven innings, giving up a single walk in a near perfect performance with 10 strikeouts. She then threw a complete game of seven innings in a 3-0 shutout over Oneonta Friday, allowing just two hits and one walk, while matching a career-high 14 strikeouts. She came in relief in Game 2 against Onenota and picked up the win after tossing the last 1.2 innings in a tied game that finished 7-1 in favor of the Hawks. Over the course of her three appearances on the week, Frenza allowed just three hits and two walks with 27 strikeouts in 15.2 innings pitched, having a k/7 of 12.06, ERA of 0.00 and WHIP of .32.

SUNY New Paltz is back in action this weekend as it plays host to the SUNYAC Championship Tournament slated for Thursday through Saturday on Mary Gray Deane Field.
