HIGHLAND, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz Department of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation hosted the third annual New Paltz Athletics Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 13 at the Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland, N.Y.

A total of 83 golfers showed up at the event, which included alumni, sponsors and supporters of Hawk Athletics.

Team Mercury Sports (Ed Clark, Mike Ferraro, Scott Via and Mike Ferraro) took home the team title with a score of 59 (-11). Team Kevin Barry Law Firm (Kevin Barry, Terry Copeland, Steve Stewart and Matt Metzger) tied Team Rino's Pizza (Rino Mazzella, Tim Freer, Corey Rydin and Greg Chahonovich) for second at 60 (-10), but Team Kevin Barry Law Firm won the tie-breaker with an eagle on hole 16.

Becky Fall and Mazzella won the women's and men's closest to the pin contests, respectively.

In the longest drive competition, Shelly Halstead took home the women's title, while Jesse Marsh posted the top drive among the men.
