KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team's 400 medley relay contingent of sophomore
Yuka Suzuka (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), senior
Becky Baker (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), sophomore
Carly Marshall (Cornwall, N.Y.) and junior
Christine Rieth (Penfield, N.Y.) finished 20th out of 23 on the second day of the 2011 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on Thursday morning.
Because the Hawks have not qualified for any of the evening sessions, they have not registered a team score.
Suzuka led the relay off with a 58.73 on the backstroke leg, while Baker went a 1:05.65 on the breaststroke leg. Marshall split a 58.79 on the butterfly leg, while Rieth clocked a 52.65 100 freestyle bringing the relay home.
Tomorrow, Marshall will swim the 200 butterfly, Suzuka will swim the 100 backstroke and Baker will swim the 100 breaststroke.
The 2011 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships are co-hosted by Beloit College and the College of Wooster at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee. The meet runs from Wednesday, March 23, through Saturday, March 26, with prelims and finals starting at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively, each day.
