NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team returns to competition from Friday-Saturday, Jan. 10-11, as it faces SUNY Geneseo and the Rochester Institute of Technology in a tri-meet at Geneseo's Alumni Pool. Friday's session begins at 6 p.m., while Saturday's session begins at 1 p.m.

RECORDS: New Paltz heads into this weekend's meet with a 3-0 dual-meet record. Geneseo is 2-1 with its lone loss coming at the hands of NCAA Division I Canisius College on Nov. 2, while RIT is 3-3.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS (3-0): New Paltz placed fourth out of 17 teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Winter Championships from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 6-8, in Bronx, N.Y… Senior
Chelsea Allocco was the star of the meet for the Hawks, notching NCAA "B" cut times in the 500 freestyle (5:00.76, first) and the 1,650 freestyle (17:17.62, second)… Allocco leads the SUNYAC so far this season in each of those events, and she also holds the top time in the conference in the 400 individual medley (4:35.85) by more than 10 seconds… Allocco ranks fourth in the SUNYAC in the 200 freestyle (1:56.15)… For her efforts at the ECAC Winter Championships, she was named the SUNYAC Female Swimmer of the Week for the week ending Dec. 8, 2013... New Paltz has the makings of a strong 800 freestyle relay at the end of the year, which was evidenced by the Hawks' first-place performance in the event at the ECAC Winter Championships… Sophomore

Victoria Scalise (1:55.81) rank second and third in the SUNYAC in the 200 freestyle, respectively, while junior

Samantha Granan, who previously swam for NCAA Division I Seton Hall University during the 2011-12 season, ranks third in the SUNYAC in both the 100 breaststroke (1:08.75) and the 200 breaststroke (2:29.89).
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS (2-1): While on its Florida training trip, Geneseo placed fourth out of six teams at the University of Tampa Invitational… The Knights finished in front of NCAA Division II Minnesota State University-Moorhead and NCAA Division III Misericordia University… Geneseo's best finish of the meet came in the 300 breaststroke relay… The team of freshman Emily Jaworski, junior Eileen Goralski and freshman Amanda Barry took fourth with a time of 3:40.42, touching ahead of NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University… Junior Abby Max, who was an All-American last year, holds the SUNYAC's top times in the 100 freestyle (52.78), the 200 freestyle (1:52.74) and the 200 backstroke (2:05.64) this season… Max ranks second in the 500 freestyle to Allocco with a time of 5:02.27… Senior Lily Powell holds the conference's top time in the 100 butterfly (58.73) and is the lone female swimmer to dip under the 1-minute mark so far this season… Powell also possesses the SUNYAC's top standard in the 200 individual medley (2:12.31)… Freshman Sophie deFreitas is second in the SUNYAC in the 1,650 freestyle (17:51.44), while freshman Emily Smith is second in the conference in the 100 backstroke (1:00.58)… Senior Lauren Boyce (2:10.66 in the 200 backstroke) and Powell (2:12.96 in the 200 butterfly) also rank second in the SUNYAC.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS (3-3): RIT finished fifth out of 10 teams at the 2013 Liberty League Championships hosted by Union (N.Y.) College from Dec. 6-7… The Tigers' top individual finish of the meet came from junior Sam Huselstein, as she placed second in the 1-meter diving final with a score of 409.75… RIT's 200 freestyle relay team of senior Katie Baldwin, senior Mariah Lamb, junior Kelsey Schaefer and sophomore Alex Timberlake nearly missed the school record in the 200 freestyle relay, placing second with a time of 1:41.52… Baldwin posted the top individual finished turned in by a swimmer, going a third-place 25.35 in the 50 freestyle.
LAST MEETING: New Paltz topped both Geneseo and RIT at last year's tri-meet from Jan. 11-12, 2013, in Rochester, N.Y... The Hawksdowned RIT, 251-102, and edged Geneseo, 180.5-159.5.
