NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – After a 10-0 victory over Morrisville State in the final regular season State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game on Saturday, the State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team travels to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m.
 
RECORDS: The Hawks are 10-5 and have won five of six contests… New Paltz has clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming SUNYAC postseason… The Engineers are 4-9, losers of four straight…. RPI is sitting in fifth place in the Liberty League.
 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS (10-5): Against Morrisville State, freshman forward Justine O'Reilly tallied four goals and freshman forward Sam Eberle recorded three scores as the Hawks outshot the Mustangs 51-2… Junior forward/midfielder Dani Ackerman recorded a season-high 11 shots… Junior back Jessica Caruana tallied one goal and two assists… Freshman goalkeeper Megan Gangewere played a season-high 44:51… Ackerman leads the SUNYAC in shots (80) and shots per game (5.33)… Caruana leads the SUNYAC in assists per game (.70)… Senior midfielder Deirdre O'Neill and sophomore forward Kayla McKeveny are tied for first in the league with three game-winning goals.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: O'Reilly leads the team in goals (10) and points (20)… McKeveny has seven goals and five helpers for 19 points… O'Neill has six goals and five assists… Ackerman leads the team with 80 shots and 49 shots on goal… Caruana has a team-best seven assists… Sophomore forward Erin Landy and senior forward Alex Gallo both have four goals each… Junior goalkeeper Alayana Wageman is 10-5 with two shutouts, a 1.82 goals-against average (GAA), a .737 save percentage and 70 saves.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Hawks have outscored teams 44-26, holding a 294-161 shots advantage… New Paltz has a 184-105 shots-on-goal edge… The Hawks have attempted 192 penalty corners and have allowed 75… New Paltz has successfully converted all three of its penalty stroke opportunities… The Hawks have outscored opponents 27-15 in the second half.
 

SCOUTING THE ENGINEEERS (4-9): RPI fell at Kean University 1-0 on Saturday and have dropped four consecutive one-goal games… Senior goalkeeper Hannah Clough made ten saves against the Cougars… RPI was predicted to finish fourth in the 2014 Liberty League Preseason Poll… Junior forward Hana Murphy ranks sixth in the Liberty League in shots per game (3.67)… Clough ranks first in the league in saves per game (9.11) and second in save percentage (.828).
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: Freshman forward Jena Nawfel, senior midfielder Chloe Hutchinson and junior midfielder Celia D'Agostino all have six points to lead the team… Hutchinson has a team-high three goals… D'Agostino has a team-best four assists… Murphy leads the Engineers with 44 shots and 27 shots on goal… Clough is 3-6 with 82 saves, a 1.85 GAA, a .828 save percentage and one shutout… Freshman goalkeeper Hilary Fiorentino is 1-2 with 16 saves, a 2.00 GAA and a .727 save percentage.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Engineers have outshot teams 226-194, including a 121-83 margin in the first half… RPI has outscored foes 12-9 in the second half… The Engineers hold a 140-123 shots-on-goal advantage… RPI has attempted 92 penalty corners and have allowed 85.

LAST MEETING: The Hawks were offensive minded with a 4-2 win over RPI when these two teams last met on Oct. 19, 2013.
