Meet ResultsNEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's swimming team continued to rely on several swimmers up and down the lineup on Saturday in its first home dual meet of the season, defeating cross-river rival Vassar College, 166-96, at Elting Pool.
New Paltz rises to 2-0 with the win and will now gear up for the MIT Invitational, which will run from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 5-7, in Cambridge, Mass. Vassar drops to 2-3 with the loss and will next compete at the Liberty League Championships from Friday-Saturday, Dec. 5-6, at the University of Rochester.

Casey O'Connor (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) captured the 100 backstroke (1:04.21), senior
Samantha Granan (Hyde Park, N.Y./Franklin D. Roosevelt) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.15), freshman
Megan Joseph (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge) took first in the 50 freestyle (25.34), senior
Kat Buyes (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./John Jay-East Fishkill) placed first in the 100 freestyle (56.91), junior
Ella Graffin (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) paced the field in the 200 backstroke (2:20.72) and freshman
Molly McCulloch (Rome, N.Y./Holland Patent) charted an event-best standard in the 100 butterfly (1:02.17).

Maggie Heaton (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) and junior
Krista VerMeersch (Newark, N.Y./Newark) kicked off the meet with an event-winning time of 1:54.23, while the 400 freestyle relay contingent of Joseph, Buyes, O'Connor and Graffin closed off the competition with an event-winning standard of 3:46.16.

Kim Kallansrude (Muttontown, N.Y./Jericho) in the 200 butterfly (2:17.45), McCulloch in the 50 freestyle (25.64), Granan in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.46) and Heaton in the 100 butterfly (1:03.42).
Vassar's sophomore Julia Cunningham won three individual events for the Brewers and set Elting Pool records in the 200 butterfly (2:09.40) and the 400 individual medley (4:43.02).
