The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team continues its push for another conference championship, as the Hawks look to clinch a top seed this weekend at Binghamton.
They will take on State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rivals SUNY Geneseo, Fredonia State and The Colleg
e at Brockport. Their biggest match will come against the Knights, however, as they are the team they will need to defeat in order to clinch the top seed in the SUNYAC playoffs.
Both Geneseo and SUNY New Paltz have 4-0 records in conference, making this its biggest test yet.
"It's all about going in there with the right attitude," said Hawks coach Rob Bruley. "It's a very important game since they're 4-0 and we're 4-0. They're looking to pick up the No. 1 seed, so hopefully we can go in there with the right frame of mind and just concentrate on this one game. My mindset and our athletes mindset is one game at a time."
The Hawks will head up to Binghamton Friday to play the Knights at 9 a.m., then will face the Blue Devils Saturday at 10 a.m. and the Golden Eagles Sunday with time still to be determined.
