For the second weekend in a row, the State University of New York at New Paltz baseball team's season-opener at the Shenandoah University Round Robin against the Hornets and Ithaca College March 1-2 is canceled due to inclement weather. No make-up date is scheduled at this time.
The Hawks, who finished last year 17-18 overall and 9-8 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, while earning a No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, is eager to get on the field in 2019, as they sport 11 new players along with a new coaching staff helmed by first-year coach
Thomas Seay.
SUNY New Paltz, which has been limited to mainly indoor practice sessions due to snow, will get its first taste of live action next weekend when it travels across the river to Newburgh, NY for a double-header March 9 against Mount St. Mary College. The Hawks will head to Bard College the following day March 10 for another non-conference double-header.
