Box Score Plattsburgh, NY--- The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team defeated SUNY Plattsburgh 9-0 to kick off its conference season Saturday afternoon.

Trinity Chow and Laura Koob defeated Rukchunna Abdeen and Sarah Hoeffner 8-0 to start off the first doubles match. Victoria Zezula and Jenna Grandville followed with a 8-2 victory against Sierra Barrett and Cydney Bond. Third doubles team, Onalee Batchellor and Alexandra Dratch defeated Megan Blake and Erin Wiggins 8-0 to complete the doubles sweep.
Chow (6-4, 6-1), Koob (6-1, 6-1), Zezula (6-0, 6-0), Grandville (6-0, 6-0), Batchellor (6-1, 6-1), Alex Chimenti (6-1, 6-0) and Kathleen Mangan (8-4) all won their singles matches, giving the Hawks a clean 9-0 victory. Chimenti also solidified her first collegiate win with the victory.
Next up, the Hawks will host RPI for their home opener Sept. 11 at 3:00 p.m.
