Monika Morasse has starred on the State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team since 2017. She became an instant starter, while logging nearly 2,500 minutes of action.
During her three seasons with SUNY New Paltz, she earned spots on the academic SUNYAC Commissioner's list, along with Dean's List each semester and was enshrined in the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society this past spring.
Through her experiences as a Hawk, Morasse talked about why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"SUNY New Paltz has created an atmosphere where everyone can truly be themselves. It is a place full of caring and selfless individuals, many of which have become my forever friends. I find myself very fortunate to be at a university where I am able to have a balance between my academics, athletics, and social life. Everyone I have met thus far at New Paltz has left a tremendous impact on me. My professors and coaching staff have pushed me to be a better person in and out of the classroom, as well as on and off the field. Being a student-athlete at SUNY New Paltz has challenged me in so many positive ways that I will continue to take with me. I know at New Paltz I can strive to encompass all that I've learned, where I'm proud to be a Hawk, and never forgetting that there's only one."
