Lindsay Haley starred on the State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team from 2015 to 2019, helping the program to a conference title in her senior season. During her Hawks career, she was named to the All-SUNYAC Second-Team, and earned SUNYAC Tournament MVP honors after leading the Hawks to a State University of New York Athletic Conference Championship in 2018.
Haley graduated in 2019 with a degree in journalism, and still cherishes her time spent as a Hawk. Looking back, she talks about her experiences and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"I always wanted to go to a college where I would be able to play the sport I loved while keeping academics a top priority. When I chose SUNY New Paltz I knew I was choosing great athletic and academic programs, but I didn't know just how much more New Paltz had to offer. The sense of community there is so special. It really did feel like everyone on campus was rooting for each other. The support I received from fellow students, professors, faculty and administrators is why I graduated feeling proud of what I accomplished both on the court and in the classroom. I don't think I would have found such strong support elsewhere."
