New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz men's lacrosse team announced its incoming class for the 2023 season Wednesday.
After playing its first full season since its inception, the program is looking to build toward the their first ever State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament appearance. With the addition of their 2022 recruiting class, the Hawks are seeking to improve and build on their 2022 season.
"This is a very versatile group of athletes that will help us right away," said SUNY New Paltz coach
Dwayne Stewart. "They are all smart, skilled, and bring a unique element to our program that will help us raise our level of game play. We're very excited to work with this group."

Sean Ramos Cassidy '26
Paul D. Schreiber High School
Port Washington, NY
Midfield
Cassidy, a Port Washington, NY native, was a member of the 2022 Paul D. Schreiber High School boy's lacrosse team and will see time on the Hawks' midfield line next season.
Colin Cleary '26
Centereach High School
Centereach, NY
Midfield
Cleary played for combined Middle County District Team. He was also a varsity football player at Centereach High School, while being a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
The Centereach, NY native will also see action on SUNY New Paltz's midfield line in 2023.
Owen Craker '26
Lindenhurst Senior High School
Lindenhurst, NY
Defense
Craker was a member of the 2022 Lindenhurst Senior High School boy's lacrosse team, playing as a long-pole defenseman. He'll look to crack the starting lineup for the Hawks defensive unit next spring.
Brandon Ortiz '26
Massapequa High School
Massapequa Park, NY
Midfield
Ortiz was a member of the 2022 Massapequa High School boy's lacrosse team, as the Massapequa Park, NY native will also fight for minutes on the Hawks' midfield line this coming spring.
Quinn Tucker '26
Massapequa High School
Massapequa, NY
Face Off/Midfield
Tucker was also a member of the 2022 Massapequa High School boy's lacrosse team, playing both as the team's faceoff man and running in the midfield. The Massapequa, NY native will see time at both spots for SUNY New Paltz.
