Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday with Hawks senior goalie
Ryan Steinhart earning men's lacrosse defensive player of the week honors.
Steinhart enjoyed his third ever selection to the weekly conference accolade after being named twice last season.
In SUNY New Paltz's lone game on the week, Steinhart set a new single-game program record with 26 saves against Brockport Saturday, beating his own single-game program record of 25. He played all 61 minutes of extra time and faced 48 shots with a save percentage of 66.7 in the 13-12 overtime loss.
The Hawks are back in SUNYAC action on Saturday when they travel to play Oswego on the road at 1 p.m.
