New Paltz, NY — Tommy Kreider was selected as the D3Baseball Team of the Week at second base announced Wednesday by d3baseball.com.
Kreider, a junior from New City, NY, continued a breakout season with an illustrious four-game span to help the State University of New York at New Paltz to a 3-1 week against Maritime and Fredonia.
Kreider finished the week hitting .714 (10-for-14) with 10 hits, 10 runs, three doubles, two RBI, six walks and three stolen bases, striking out just once while compiling a .800 on base percentage and slugging percentage of .929. Defensively, he solidified second base with a perfect fielding percentage, totaling 18 total catches, 11 putouts and seven assists, while turning two double plays, which were both pivotal. The first came in a 12-12 tied game against the Privateers in the eighth to help get out of the inning where they then later won, 14-12 in extra innings and then again in game three against Fredonia to help solidify the 8-3 win in the top of the ninth.
