BETHLEHEM, PA - The State University of New York at New Paltz cross country team(s) were in action today at the 51st Annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. The men ran 8k and the women 6k at Lehigh University's Goodman Cross Country Course. The men came in fourteenth out of thirty-five teams. The women finished fifteenth out of thirty-four teams in the green race. The Hawks tallied twelve new personal bests and two season best performances.
Oliver Melara-Perez led the men's team with a sixth place finish in a time of 26:08.4. Corbin Smith finished in fifty-ninth place with a new personal best time of 27:41.3. Anthony Willis and Evan Miller followed in ninety-second and one hundred-fourth place(s) with time(s) of 28:17.1 and 28:27.2 respectively. Willis earned a new personal best with his time. Aiden Hesseltine rounded out the Hawks' scoring five in one hundred twenty-first place with a time of 28:47.8. Joe Palazzolo and Mike Harbord finished as the Hawks' displacers in one hundred twenty-seventh and one hundred thirty-eighth place(s) with new personal best times of 28:50.2 and 28:55.4 respectively.
Orquidea Briceno finished thirty-third overall to lead the Hawks in a time of 24:07.2. Hunter Larson finished next for the Hawks in forty-sixth place with a new personal best time of 24:26.8. Lillian Stephenson followed in fifty-fifth place with a time of 24:34.9. Ava Nargentino and Kate Turner finished in one hundred twenty-third and one hundred fifty-first place(s) with times of 26:01.1 and 26:24.9 respectively to close out the scoring five for the Hawks. Nargentino and Turner's times earned a new personal best. Adelyn Ameigh-Coggen and Juliana Vanorden finished as the Hawks displacers in one hundred eightieth and one hundred eighty-eighth place(s) and new personal best times of 27:04.5 and 27:19.4 respectively.
The cross country team(s) have next weekend off before returning to action on Saturday October 18 for their final regular season meet of the fall at the Rowan Border Battle hosted by Rowan University at Dream Park in Logan Township, NJ.  Â
