Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its annual men's lacrosse award winners Tuesday with Hawks senior midfielder
Anthony Senecal earning a spot on second team.
Senecal becomes just the third player since the program's inception in 2020 to earn a spot on the All-SUNYAC team, joining 2023 second team selects
Matt Brignati (faceoff) and
Ryan Steinhart (goalie), and becomes the first offensive player to make the list.
Senecal had a career season for SUNY New Paltz in his final stint with orange and blue, leading the team offensively with 43 points on a team-most 30 goals and 13 assists with former category being a career high for the Patchogue, NY native. Senecal also led the team in shots with 111, while tallying a shot-on-goal percentage of .640. He finished fourth on the team in ground balls with 26 and registered four caused turnovers while starting 17-of-17 games.
In his 17 games played, Senecal led the team in points in seven of them while recording a career-high six in a 24-7 rout of Canton April 19 and registered three-plus goals in seven games to pace the team. On the year, Senecal averaged 6.53 shots and 1.76 goals per game, including nearly an assist a contest and 2.53 points per game.
Senecal ends his four-year career with 77 goals, 44 assists and 121 points, ranking third and fourth all-time in program history, respectively.
