Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Announced its 2024-25 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll Thursday, which recognized student-athletes who sustained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
There were nearly 2,000 student-athletes honored across the conference's 10 full member institutions and eight associate member institutions, including 174 from SUNY New Paltz. Following the 2023-24 academic year, the Hawks landed 162 selections to the academic honor roll.
This past year, SUNY New Paltz garnered 38 freshman who made the list, nearing last year's total of 41 with men's lacrosse having the most first-year selections with five, while baseball, women's basketball, field hockey and women's volleyball each had four.
Women's Soccer had the most total selections with 21 with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.48 and spring GPA of 3.65. Baseball followed with 19 selections, finishing with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.27. The Hawks boasted 31 student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA this past spring, including five with a cumulative GPA of a 4.0, while 170 had a least a 3.40, which landed them on the Hawks Academic Honor Roll with 186 landing on Dean's List.
