New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz officially released its 2025-26 schedule Tuesday in the program's final stint in the SUNYAC.
The Hawks open up their traditional fall 2025 cross country season at the annual 3K and 4K race at the Vassar Season Starter Aug. 29 before heading back to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete in the Ron Stonitsch Invite Sept. 13, a 5K for the women and 6K for the men. SUNY New Paltz has opened up at Vassar for the last eight years and continue the tradition in 2025.
Both programs then make the short trip up to Annandale-on-Hudson to run in the 6K and 8K race of the Bard College hosted Fred Pavlich Invitational Sept. 20, which SUNY New Paltz finished first on both the men's and women's sides last season.
The Hawks then travel to Bethlehem, PA to compete in the 51st annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Oct. 2. Neither program has competed at the Paul Short Run since 2018.
The last regular season meet of the fall takes place in Logan Township, NJ with SUNY New Paltz running for the second straight year at the Rowan Boarder Battle, as both women's 6K and men's 8K will take place Oct. 18. The Hawks finished 20th on the women's side a year ago, while the men finished 18th out of 31 teams in the championship race with the team boasting 17 new personal best times on the day a year ago.
The postseason begins with the SUNYAC Championships in Plattsburgh, NY on Nov. 1 with the NCAA Mideast Regionals set in Canton, NY Nov. 15. If the Hawks earn national qualifiers, which would be the first since 2022, they will head to Aiken, South Carolina for the national meet.
The spring season starts March 27-28 at the Ramapo Track and Field Invitational and will continue April 10-11 at the Silfen Track and Field Invitational in New Lond, CT hosted by Connecticut College. SUNY New Paltz then concludes the year where it began, going across the river to compete in the track and field Vassar Twilight Meet April 25.
