POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The State University of New York at New Paltz cross country team(s) were in action today for their first meet of the fall season at the Vassar Season Starter hosted by Vassar College. The women ran 3k and the men 4k at the Vassar Farm course. The men came in fourth out of six teams. The women finished fourth out of six teams.
Hunter Larson finished thirty-first overall to lead the Hawks in a new personal best time of 12:06.6. Orquidea Briceno finished next for the Hawks in thirty-third place in a new personal best time of 12:08.0. Lillian Stephenson followed in thirty-fourth place with a time of 12:10.9. Kate Turner and Alexandra Swink finished in fortieth and forty-first place(s) places with times of 12:44.3 and 12:53.3 respectively to close out the scoring five for the Hawks. Adelyn Ameigh-Coggen and Ava Nargentino finished as the Hawks displacers in forty-second and forty-sixth place(s) and times of 12:58.0 and 13:18.8 respectively. The Hawks had three more participants in the race including Juliana Vanorden (fifty-first), Carolina Cuello (fifthy-sixth), and Anastasiya Kadomtseva-Sobczak (fifty-sixth).
Oliver Melara-Perez led the men's team with a fourteenth place finish and a new personal best time of 13:09.8. Evan Miller finished in twenty-fifth place with a time of 13:36.6. Aiden Hesseltine and Anthony Willis followed in thirty-second and thirty-third place(s) with new personal best time(s) of 14:01.0 and 14:02.1 respectively. Mike Harbord rounded out the Hawks' scoring five in thirty-fourth place with a time of 14:03.4. Jack Sherman and Corbin Smith finished as the Hawks' displacers in fortieth and forty-second place(s) and times of 14:22.1 and 14:29.9 respectively. The Hawks had three more participants in the race including Joe Palazzolo (forty-third), Brandon Gardner (forty-sixth), and Jake Rodriguez (fifty-second).
The cross country team(s) return to action on Saturday September 13 for the Ron Stonitsch Invitational hosted by Vassar College at Vassar Farm in Poughkeepsie, NY.
