New Paltz, NY— The State University of New York New Paltz women's cross country team announced its incoming class for the 2026-2027 season today.
Fall 2026 marks a new challenge for the State University of New York New Paltz women's cross country team. After four decades of participation in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), the Hawks will match up this season as members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). In their final SUNYAC season, the 2025 Hawks finished in sixth place in the SUNYAC Women's Cross Country championship meet and concluded their season with a 17th place in the NCAA DIII Mideast Regional championship meet.

Penelope Gonsalves '30
Brooklyn, NY
Saint Saviour High School
Prospect Park Youth Running Club
Penelope Gonsalves' career in cross country and track was exclusively with the Prospect Park Youth Running Club, affiliated with both the USATF and the AAU.

In running the equivalent of four years of high school varsity cross country, Gonsalves consistently improved her times and finish places in each of her four seasons with the Prospect Park Club. Beginning in 2022, she ran in each of the USATF New York's major cross country races: USATF New York XC Meet, USATF New York Junior Olympic XC Championship and the USATF Region I XC Championship. Her times in the 2023, 2024, and 2025 USATF Region earned her the rank of National Individual Qualifier to each season's USATF National Junior Olympic XC Championship.
Gonsalves also competed in winter and spring track for Prospect Park Running Club.
Jaelyn Gort '30
Clifton Park, NY
Shenendehowa High School
Jaelyn Gort was a four year runner for Shenedehowa's perennially powerhouse girl's cross country team. In 2025 the Plainsmen girls hit the quadfecta, winning the Suburban Council championship, the NYSPHSAA Class A championship, the New York State Federation/NikeRegional championship, and finishing in the upper half of the Nike National Cross Countrty championship meet.
Jaelyn, who also ran two seasons of winter and spring track for Shenendehowa, had cross country career best times of 24:25.20 in the 3 Mile run and 20:56.00 in the 2.5 Mile run.
Jaelyn also earned NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Olivia Kruppo '30
Delhi, NY
Delaware Academy (Delhi)
Olivia Kruppo had an outstanding four year career running for the combined Delhi/South Korthright High School cross country and track teams.

The combined Delhi/South Korthright girls cross country team is a perennial powerhouse in Section IV. During Kruppo's four varsity seasons, D/SK has won the Mid-Algonquin Conference (MAC) each year, captured the Section IV, Class D championship four times and represented Section IV in the NYS Class D state girl's cross country championship. Individually, Kruppo was a three time NYS Class D state championship qualifier and earned MAC Second Team honors in 2024 and 2025.
She consistently appeared on Delaware Academy's Honor Roll and High Honor Roll and was recognized in her senior year for her academic achievements at Delaware Academy's Academic Awards Banquet.
Nicolina Masotti '30
Lake Ronkonkoma, NY
Sachem High School North
Nicolina Masotti ran varsity cross country for Sachem North for all four years of high school. She also competed in track for three years. She was team captain of both girl's cross country and track in her senior year.
