Colorado, CO — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its honorees for the 2025 Division III National Academic Squad with 13 Hawks earning a spot on the list, recognized for their excellence in the classroom.
More than half the roster for SUNY New Paltz was named for their prowess as a student-athlete, which included freshmen
Grace Grant and
Anna Pogodzinski, sophomores
Elizabeth Austin,
Carina Bennardo,
Sophia Bronzi,
Ashley McGough, junior
Lil Schaub and seniors
Gail Comiskey,
Ayden Fleming,
Madelyn Graves,
Meghan Gunning,
Madeline Meyer and
Rachel Tama.
Comiskey, Tama, Gunning and Graves end their collegiate careers as four-time NFHCA All-Academic Team members with Tama also being named as the SUNY Division III and SUNYAC Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year this past season.
NFHCA All-Academic Squad honorees must sustain a GPA of 3.50 or better through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. There were more than 1,800 Division III student-athletes named from 147 different institutions.
