SUNY New Paltz Field Hockey Releases 2026 Fall Schedule

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz field hockey team officially released its 2026 schedule today. 
 

The State University of New York New Paltz officially released its 2026 field hockey schedule today with the Hawks once again facing a challenging non-conference schedule as well as the teams' first go-round as a member of the New Jersey Athletic Conferencde (NJAC).

Of the 18 regular season match ups scheduled this fall, the Hawks will face four programs that saw action in the NCAA DIII tournament. Of the remaining 13 contests, three teams reached their respective conference final matches and five were conference semifinalists.

The Hawks kick off the 2026 season with eight consecutive non-conference match ups, beginning on September 1 hosting Atlantic East Champion Marywood University. New Paltz then hits the road for four contests, beginning on September 5 at Endicott College in Massachusetts. The following weekend, the Hawks are in Virginia, first facing Christopher Newport University on September 12 and playing Randolph-Macon College on September 13. Then September 16 the Hawks will face Stevens in New Jersey. September 19 sees New Paltz at home, hosting the Bombers of Ithaca College. Once again, the Hawks are on the road, at RPI on September 23, SUNY Cortland on September 26 and they close out September on the 30th at Union College.

October opens the Hawks' first season as members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, when they host Kean University on October 3. They are away at Ramapo College of New Jersey on October 7, then host Stockton University on October 10. On October 13 the Hawks conclude their 2026 home schedule hosting the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College.

New Paltz faces five straight away games to finish out the regular season: on October 17 at The College of New Jersey; October 21 at William Paterson; October 23 at Rowan University; October 27 at SUNY Oneonta, and their final NJAC match, at Montclair State University on October 31.

The NJAC postseason tournament begins on November 2, with the semifinals on November 4 and the championship scheduled for November 7. The NJAC champion receives an automatic invitation to the 2026 NCAA DIII field hockey tournament, with first, second and third rounds held on November 11, 14 and 15 respectively, The semifinals and championship matches will be November 20 and 22, hosted by William Smith College in Geneva, NY.
