New Paltz, NY — Giving Week is underway for the Department of Athletics, Wellness and Recreation.
The Hawks began their annual Giving Week Challenge Monday, which will run through Sunday, April 26 at 11:59 p.m. with all 16 teams competing on who can illicit the most donors and the most dollar support through the week with funds raised going toward the enhancement of the student-athlete experience.
In the past, donations from Giving Week have helped fund technological advances for varsity programs, along with equipment, gear and the implementation of the Hawks' Fueling Station, which opened April 4, 2024.
Donations can be directed toward each individual program by selecting their respective funds, which includes Wellness & Recreation. Any donation made toward the general Athletics Giving Fund will help in overall department and student initiatives, which includes events such as Green Outs for Mental Health Awareness, Pink Outs for Breast Cancer Awareness, end of the year student-athlete Field Day, academic celebrations and the annual "Hawkies" end of the year award show, among other events hosted by the Athletics, Wellness and Recreation Department.
