NEW PALTZ, NY – Junior forward Ryan Zindler has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week following a stellar week of play, as announced by the conference office Monday.
Zindler becomes the first player in program history to earn an NJAC weekly accolade, enjoying a standout week in which the Wappingers Falls native collected nine points across two contests.
Ryan Zindler started the week with a career night, erupting for four goals in just 41 minutes of action against Purchase College Wednesday. After striking for his first goal at the 25:02 mark, the junior found the back of the net three more times at 47:52, 49:05 and 51:44, becoming the first Hawk to score four goals in a game since Harrison Lane in 2012.
The red-hot Zindler followed his career performance with an assist in Saturday's non-conference clash against nationally ranked No. 17 University of Scranton, helping create the Hawks' lone goal of the contest to finish the week with four goals, one assist and nine points.
Zindler and the Hawks return to action Wednesday, Sept. 16 for a midweek matchup against local foe Vassar College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
