Veteran Hawks is the culminating level of the Hawks Leadership Academy. Interested student-athletes must have successfully completed both Hawks 101 and Rising Hawks and be recommended by their head coach. The Veteran Hawks program is centered on an internship experience. Veteran Hawks will select a team, other than their own, to connect with for a sport season. Each student must attend 8 practices, 1 in-season competition, and meet with the head coach of that team 4 times, observing that team’s leadership and what they are learning. Each student will write a one-page reflection at the conclusion of the internship. In addition to the internship, Veteran Hawks will attend four workshops. Â

Student-athletes who successfully meet all levels of the Hawks Leadership Academy will be celebrated as Elite Leaders at the annual Hawkies awards ceremony at the end of the academic year.Â
