Hawks 101 is the first level of the Hawks Leadership Academy, geared toward first year student-athletes.

Process to Join

1. Successful Completion of NCAA Freshmen Experience Modules (assigned in August)

2. Recommendation from Head Coach

Expectations

1. Attend the four-part workshop series throughout the spring semester, facilitated by New Paltz coaches and senior athletes.

2. Complete one homework assignment per workshop

3. Actively engage in workshop conversations.

3. Growth Mindset Part 1

4. Growth Mindset Part 2

Learning Outcomes

1. Hawks 101 participants will define their Why.

2. Hawks 101 participants will create their Personal Vision statement.

3. Hawks 101 participants will understand the difference between a Fixed Mindset and a Growth Mindset.

4. Hawks 101 participants will understand how to move from a Fixed Mindset to a Growth Mindset, as needed.

Moving On to Rising Hawks

1. Complete a one page essay on the Hawks 101 learning experience.

2. Recommendation from Hawks 101 facilitator.

3. Recommendation from Head Coach.
