ROCHESTER, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball team cruised to an opening round win in the Nazareth Tournament against the host #15 Golden Flyers, 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-25).
Jake Moore led the Hawks with 13 kills and four blocks and Kevin Stross added nine kills and three blocks. Sean Foley chipped in with seven kills and five digs and Andrew Cassius had a game-high 34 assists and eight digs. The Hawks improve to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the NECVA Metro.
Billy Gimello had a game-high 14 kills and Hans Schroeder had 10 kills for the Golden Flyers. Kevin Kirchoff had a team-high 17 assists and EJ Wells-Spicer had 14 assists.
The Hawks return to action tonight at 6 p.m. against Eastern Mennonite University.
