ROCHESTER, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball finished the first day of the Nazareth Tournament with a 2-0 record. The Hawks defeated Eastern Mennonite University, 3-1 (30-27, 30-23, 26-30, 30-27) to improve to 7-4 overall and their fifth straight win.
Jake Moore finished with a game-high 20 kills and six digs and
Kevin Stross had 19 kills and a .692 hitting percentage with three service aces.
Jonathan Van Dyke finished with eight kills and no errors and three blocks on defense.
Andrew Cassius had a game-high 51 assists and five digs for the Hawks.
The Hawks return to action tomorrow against cross town rival Vassar College. Two weeks ago, the Brewers and Hawks played a five set match which included the second longest game in NECVA history (46-44) Hawks win.
