ROCHESTER, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball team continued their early season success with their six straight win over cross town rival #10 Vassar College. The Hawks revenged a five set loss to the Brewers two weeks ago with a straight set victory, 3-0 (30-25, 30-28, 30-24) to move into the championship game at the Nazareth Tournament. The Hawks improve to 8-4 overall and will play #3 UC Santa Cruz at 4 p.m.
Jake Moore led the Hawks with 16 kills and nine digs and
Daniel Liberto added 11 kills (11-2-17, .529).
Kevin Stross finished with 10 kills and no errors on 18 attempts for a .556 hitting percentage and
Jonathan Van Dyke also added 10 kills.
Andrew Cassius handed out a game-high 50 assists and had nine digs for the Hawks.
Phil Tully led the Brewers with 16 kills and Evan Fredericksen finished with 10 kills. Matthew Elgin tallied eight kills and three blocks as the Brewers fall to 6-5 overall.
