ROCHESTER, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball team fell to #3 UC Santa Cruz in the Nazareth Tournament Championship game, 3-2 (22-30, 30-21, 30-22, 26-30, 11-15) to snap their six game winning streak.. The Hawks fall to 8-5 overall and return to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against #9 Stevens in the Hawk Center. The match will be a NECVA Metro game.
Jake Moore finished with a game-high 24 kills, four service aces, seven digs and five blocks for the Hawks.
Kevin Stross had 17 kills with a .625 hitting percentage and
Daniel Liberto had 10 kills and two blocks.
Andrew Cassius had a double-double with 56 assists and 12 digs.
Brad Sullivan had a team-high 19 kills and six blocks for UC Santa Crus and Justin Lam had 18 kills and seven digs. Austin Einhorn had 12 kills and Salvatore La Cavera finished with 11 kills and eight digs. Eric Rowell had a double-double, handing out a game-high 65 assists to go with 11 digs.
