Hawks Fall to #4 Baruch

NEW YORK, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball team was edged out by nationally ranked #4 Baruch College, 3-1 (30-26, 23-30, 31-29, 30-22) Thursday night.  The Hawks fall to 11-12 overall and return to action this weekend in the York Tournament tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. against New York City Tech.

Jake Moore led the Hawks with 16 kills and added eight digs on defense.  Daniel Liberto chipped in with 12 kills and four blocks and Kevin Stross added 11 kills and six blocks (two solo).  Jonathan Van Dyke had nine kills and Andrew Cassius tallied his second straight double-double with a game-high 45 assists and 12 digs on defense.  Mike Fink led the Hawks with 13 digs and Eric Rothbard had nine.

Pablo Oliveria finished with a game-high 18 kills, six digs and dig blocks and Sequiel Sanchez had 16 kills and 20 digs for Baruch.  Santos Rivera chipped in with 13 kills and seven digs and Eryk Kowalski had seven kills and a game-high eight blocks.  Ivan Andujar tallied a double-double with 43 assists and 14 digs and Carlos DeLeon had a match-best 22 digs.
